A new version of the circumstances surrounding the mysterious deaths of Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman and his wife, pianist Betsy Arakawa, has emerged in the United States. Forensic experts have shared their theories about what might have happened in their home.
Investigators determined that the 95-year-old actor died of natural causes. An autopsy revealed that his death was caused by a heart attack, which occurred nine days before his body was found. This is supported by the pacemaker’s recorded data, which marked the moment of the heart failure.
The autopsy showed that he had no signs of trauma or carbon monoxide exposure. The cause of death was identified as the most common in the country—ischemic heart disease, and possibly high blood pressure that was not detected in time, noted the expert.
As for the death of Betsy Arakawa, there is another theory. Experts suggest that she may have rushed to help her husband during a critical moment and accidentally fell. Her body was found in the bathroom. It is believed she hit her head on a radiator, leading to a fatal injury.
The expert speculated that she may have struck her head during the fall, which could have caused a brain injury or a brain hemorrhage. Additionally, it is known that one of the couple’s dogs did not survive. Experts consider the possibility that the pet died from dehydration, as initial reports suggest the animal had no access to food or water for nine days. Meanwhile, two other pets were found alive in the yard.
