What began as a desperate search for a missing 10-month-old baby has ended in unimaginable sorrow. Zeke Best, the infant at the center of a statewide Amber Alert in Idaho, was tragically found dead — just 36 hours after the alert was issued.

Authorities confirmed the devastating news over the weekend after arresting the baby’s father, Jeremy Albert Best, who is now facing multiple charges — including suspicion of kidnapping and homicide.

🚨 A Haunting Call from the Wilderness

The chilling discovery was made roughly 24 miles east of Idaho Falls, when a hunter called 911 to report a disturbing scene: a man lying naked in a sleeping bag on the roadside, speaking incoherently.

“The caller stated the man was naked and making odd statements,” said officials.

That man was later identified as Jeremy Albert Best.

Upon searching the area, officers found his vehicle — wedged in an embankment just off the road. Inside, they made the heartbreaking discovery: baby Zeke’s lifeless body.

🕯️ A Web of Tragedy: The Mother’s Death

This devastating moment came just one day after police began searching for Best in connection to the murder of his wife, Kali Jean Randall, whose body was found in their home in Victor, Idaho.

The Teton County Sheriff’s Office has officially categorized her death as a homicide, deepening the layers of this already unthinkable tragedy.

⚖️ Justice in Motion

Following his arrest, Jeremy Albert Best was taken into custody and is now being held in the Bonneville County Jail, awaiting arraignment. As of Saturday night, no attorney had been officially assigned to represent him.

The case is now under intense investigation by Idaho State Police, the FBI, Bonneville County detectives, and the Teton County Sheriff’s Office, all working together to untangle the timeline and motives behind this horrific series of events.

🕊️ A Community in Mourning

Law enforcement released a somber message following the discovery:

“Our thoughts are with the family of the victims involved in this case,” they stated.

The town of Victor, and the broader Idaho community, are left grieving a loss that words can hardly express. As the investigation continues, the focus now turns toward seeking justice — and finding answers in the face of such sorrow.
