Did you ever notice that when somebody has talent, they often have talent in more than one area? For example, some people may be able to sing and dance while others may be able to play an instrument and sing.

Sometimes, the level of talent that somebody has may even take us by surprise. A good example of this is Steve Martin. Like many of us, you probably think about his comedy and his movies when you think about him.

The fact of the matter is, that Steve Martin is more than a comedian and actor, he also is excellent when playing the banjo. It is something that he really prides himself on, but we don’t get the opportunity to hear him playing it often enough.

That changed recently, however, after Steve Martin and his band, the Steep Canyon Rangers appeared on the NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert. They played a 16-minute set and let’s just say, you should be prepared to be blown away.

Steve Martin certainly has what it takes to make us laugh but he also has what it takes to make us start slapping our knees and dancing. The bluegrass music that he plays is second to none and the fact that he is playing with a talented group does wonders.

At the beginning of the set, Steve Martin is playing some banjo licks on his own and he is getting very creative. It seems as if it is the perfect atmosphere for some bluegrass, and it isn’t long before the fiddle player gets his chance in the spotlight.

Of course, as you should expect, Steve Martin is going to tell a few good jokes while he is out there too and they really have the crowd laughing. It’s a performance that is a lot of fun to watch.

You even get the chance to watch it in the following video. Like almost 5 million others, you will love what he is able to do with the banjo.
