Blake Lively’s latest film is turning heads—and not exactly in a good way—thanks to one unexpected moment.

Another Simple Favor, which is the sequel to the 2018 thriller A Simple Favor, premiered on Prime Video on May 1. Lively and Anna Kendrick returned to their original roles as Emily and Stephanie. Joining them this time around is Michele Morrone, known for his role in Subservience, adding even more star power to the cast.

As of now, the movie holds a 67 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer. That’s a drop compared to the first film, which scored a solid 84 percent.

Although the sequel hasn’t wowed everyone, some viewers say the movie takes bold risks and pushes boundaries.

It’s even been praised by a few as a “divinely twisted thriller” that does the unexpected.

But amid the divided opinions, there’s one particular scene that has really sparked a reaction from fans online—and not in a good way.

Alongside playing Emily, Blake Lively also takes on the role of Emily’s twin sister, Charity. At one point, the two characters share an on-screen kiss.

That moment didn’t sit well with a lot of viewers, who wasted no time sharing their opinions on Twitter.

One viewer wrote: “GUYSSSS I AM HORRIFIED. I decided to watch Another Simple Favor and why is Blake Lively’s characters twin making sexual advances to her HEEELPP.”

Another added: “Another Simple Favour is the strangest incest-filled movie i have ever watched,”

Someone else chimed in: “Another Simple Favor was good until the weird incest shit started(again)! At least in the last movie it kinda made sense but in this one it was no cause for it!”

“The lesbian incest in Another Simple Favor was a surprise,” another person added.

People also noted that this wasn’t the only recent example of incest on screen. An episode from the latest season of The White Lotus also included a similar theme.

In that case, it involved characters played by Patrick Schwarzenegger and Sam Nivola, who portrayed brothers in the show.

While many fans labeled the scene “gross,” executive producer David Bernard didn’t feel that it pushed the boundaries too far.

He told the New York Post“No, in terms of that — that’s all [creator Mike White]. Mike is brilliant, and I think those big story turns are not just for shock,”

“There’s a specific reason in terms of the narrative storytelling, and the larger thematic idea Mike is trying to get across.”

Bernard continued by saying: “As the season wraps up, you’ll see the purpose of that story turn. The show goes there for a larger thematic idea.

“I love that family storyline, especially the brother story — and, it culminates in a very satisfying way.”
