Bindi Irwin, 26, shared an update after undergoing an emergency appendectomy in the U.S. while attending the Steve Irwin Gala in Las Vegas. Hours after landing, she suffered a ruptured appendix and was rushed into surgery. During the procedure, doctors also removed 14 endometriosis lesions and repaired a hernia she developed after giving birth in 2021.
Bindi, who has long battled endometriosis, thanked her doctors and expressed gratitude for the care she received at Lenox Hill Hospital. She praised her brother, Robert Irwin, for hosting the gala in her absence and assured fans she’ll attend the next event in Brisbane this November.
Robert told People she had tried to “tough it out” but needed urgent surgery. Bindi has been vocal about her health struggles, revealing last year that she endured over a decade of undiagnosed pain due to endometriosis. She continues to raise awareness about the condition and is now focused on recovery.
