Donald Trump has once again found himself in the spotlight after cameras picked up the photo on his lock screen.

The president, 78, has been in the headlines again after his right-hand man, Elon Musk, resigned from the Republican administration last week (May 29).

Meanwhile, Trump’s highly publicised $175 billion (£130 billion) missile defence system, dubbed the ‘Golden Dome’, has already raised eyebrows around the world.

In recent times, the US leader has also launched a ‘trade war’ against his country’s neighbour and made threats to annex Canada as America’s 51st state.

He then went on to face even more open ridicule after claiming Canada was ‘considering’ his offer of joining – something Canadian officials have yet to confirm or deny.

And now, the internet has got hold of none other than Trump’s phone background, which is – you guessed it – a picture of himself.

Photographs show that the president’s wallpaper is a close-up photo of his face as he points at the camera with a stern look.

Social media users were quick to lap this up and reveal their thoughts on the ‘self-absorbed’ but ‘on-brand’ move.

One wrote: “Ahahahahaha. The most on-brand thing that ever on-branded. Trump’s lock screen is, of course, a picture of Trump.”

A second quipped: “Of course. Trump’s cell phone lock screen background image is a picture of himself.

“Not his wife, not his children, not his grandchildren… himself.”

A third chimed in with: “Trump’s lock screen was spotted on his phone last night – and it was a photo of himself.”

Mind-blown, they added: “Is that not one of the most narcissistic, self-absorbed things you’ve ever seen??? Not his family, not his kids, but himself. Wtf…”

While another user claimed: “Lock screens tell a lot about a person.”

An article by Medium looks at what different personality types apparently choose as their wallpaper, backing up claims that the choice can be ‘narcissistic’.

However, it is also said to mean that you like to ‘show off who you are’, which makes sense for Trump.

The article’s author wrote: “It can be narcissistic, but it can be a form of self-love expression.

“They usually take a photo of themselves and set that up in the background or on top of an abstract art image.

“This personality is one that likes being able to be at home with themselves and not have too many distractions in life.”

Other social media users didn’t seem to think there was an issue with Trump’s lock screen, as one penned: “Is this a problem?”

Someone else commented: “Lots of people do that, no?”
