sh Weathers Raises Over $437K for Texas Flood Victims After Tragic Holiday Disaster. Over the Fourth of July weekend, severe flooding devastated six counties in Texas, with Kerr County suffering the worst. The Guadalupe River surged to 26 feet, resulting in at least 120 confirmed deaths, including 27 children and counselors from Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp for girls.
In response, country musician and Texas native Josh Weathers and his wife Kady quickly shifted their focus from a canceled concert at Gruene Hall to organizing a virtual benefit concert. The couple, deeply moved by the tragedy—especially the loss of children—managed to pull the event together in just 48 hours.
What started as a simple livestream from Josh’s phone turned into a powerful fundraiser. By the end of the four-hour concert, they had raised over $437,000, far exceeding their initial $150,000 goal. Donations came in through live contributions and online auction items.
“Children are close to our hearts,” said Kady. “We’ve seen suffering abroad, but when it hits home, it hurts differently.”

The money is being channeled through their nonprofit, Love Like You Mean It International, and is going directly to affected families—helping with funeral expenses and financial aid as they begin to rebuild their lives. “Food and water are covered,” Josh said, “but families now need financial support. Let’s raise as much as we can, as fast as we can.”
Donations remain open, as the Weathers family continues working with local officials to ensure the funds reach those in greatest need.
