The top-charting female vocalist’s close friend announced her passing on social media, stressing the importance of informing her fans first.
Singer Connie Francis has died at 87. Her pal Ron Roberts took to Facebook on July 17, 2025, to announce the devastating news.
“it is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that i inform you of the passing of my dear friend Connie Francis last night [sic]. I know that Connie would approve that her fans are among the first to learn of this sad news. More details will follow later,” he captioned the post.
Francis’s passing comes just two weeks after reports revealed that she was hospitalized in Florida on July 2. At the time, it remained unclear what the cause was, which landed her in the ICU as doctors closely monitored her progress.
This wasn’t the first time Francis encountered a health challenge. The legendary pop star and actress previously suffered from orthopedic issues in recent years.
Francis first rose to prominence in the 1950s, making a significant impact on the music scene. She released hits like, “Pretty Little Baby,” “Who’s Sorry Now?” and “Stupid Cupid.”
