Duane Chapman, known to many for his long-running reality TV show Dog the Bounty Hunter, married Francie Chapman in 2021 after both had experienced heartbreaking losses.
Over the weekend, the tragedy struck when Francie’s son, Gregory Zecca, reportedly shot and killed his teenage son, Anthony, in what the family is calling an accidental shooting.
Police responded to the scene around 8 p.m. that evening, and the case was described as an ‘isolated incident,’ as first reported by TMZ.
Speaking about the heartbreaking loss, Chapman’s representative shared this with TMZ: “We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony.”
The case is still under investigation at this time. As of now, no arrests have been announced by authorities.

Chapman’s former wife, Beth, passed away in June 2019 after battling cancer for several years. Francie also experienced a similar loss, as her husband Bob died of cancer just six months earlier.
“We could cry with each other and talk about what we were feeling. We were able to walk alongside each other through the pain and heartbreak and it brought us together in this amazing way.”
She also spoke about how they continue to honor the memory of their former partners, adding: “We’re never going to leave Bob and Beth behind [or] forget about them. They’ll always be a part of us. We thought we were going to spend the rest of our lives with them and that’s not what happened and we were dealt a really hard hand.”

In 2023, he revealed that he had discovered a previously unknown son named Jon, officially bringing his total number of children to 13.
