####### Video #######

When 10-year-old Andrew arrived in Nashville to live with the Gill family, he was quiet, withdrawn, and spent most of his time alone — staring at old photographs in his room.

His four siblings had already been adopted, leaving Andrew behind to navigate foster care alone. The Gills were meant to be just a temporary stop — foster parents until the “right” family came along.

But with gentle love and patience, Andrew slowly began to heal.

He started opening up.

He learned to express his emotions.

And everything changed when their son invited him to play video games — a simple gesture that helped him come out of his shell.

One day, during a walk with his counselor, he was asked:

“Would you like to be adopted by the Gills?”

He quietly said yes — not knowing what awaited him at home.

When he walked through the door, he was met with balloons, signs, and the smiling faces of the Gills and their friends.

And there stood their son — wearing a shirt that read:

“Will you be my brother?”

Andrew burst into tears and gratefully accepted.

Then came the five words that melted every heart in the room:

“Thank you for not giving up on me.”
