Four men planned to rob the pizza delivery guy when he showed up at their door. Unfortunately for them, they didn’t get a clear look at his face. If they had, they wouldn’t have made such a foolish mistake.

Four men in Illinois planned to rob a pizza delivery guy — but didn’t expect Napoleon Harris, a 6-foot-3 former NFL linebacker and state senator, to show up instead.

Harris, filling in after his staff left for the night, fought off the attackers, chased them, and helped police track and arrest three suspects. One fled to Indiana.

It got deeper: the suspects’ car had blood inside and was linked to a murder in Georgia. Thanks to Harris, police may have cracked more than just a robbery.
