25-year-old Tristan Weigelt shared rare photos from his previous life — before nearly his entire body was covered in tattoos.
Despite the striking changes in his appearance, he claims that inside he is still the same person.
His journey to full transformation began just five years ago when Tristan got his first tattoo at age 20. Now 95% of his body is covered in ink — except for his palms, soles, intimate areas, and ears.
“I only started getting face tattoos two years ago, but since then my appearance has radically changed,” he says. According to him, he spent about £40,000 and has spent 260 hours under the needle.
Today, Tristan lives in Copenhagen, where he is studying to become a tattoo artist, although he is originally from the USA. He actively shares his story on social media, showing what he looked like before and after the transformation.
Some of the old photos are striking — he is almost unrecognizable.
But not all of his close ones liked the changes. Tristan admits his parents “hate” tattoos, and that’s why he wanted to show his old face.
Despite the criticism, he does not regret his choice: “Tattoos are part of my journey, my self-expression. I look different, but inside I’m still the same Tristan.”
This year he plans to complete the tattooing of his face, and he offers advice to those considering a similar transformation: “Be confident and do it for yourself, not for someone else’s approval. It has to be a conscious decision.”
