There are many people who have an opinion on politics these days and it seems as if they are always crossing paths in some way or another. Some people may say something that gets one person cheering but for another, it becomes a frustrating statement.
One person who is now voicing her opinion about politics and in particular, President Donald Trump, is Savannah Chrisley. This comes after her parents, reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley were released from prison.
Savannah sees the pardon that was given by President Donald Trump of her parents as being an opportunity for a fresh start. She is thankful for the pardon, saying it is evidence that he ‘is truly giving everyone a chance at a better life.’
Savannah was at the Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Florida on May 28 to pick up her father. As she was waiting outside to bring him home, she spoke to reporters about the pardon. She also showed her gratitude by wearing pink MAGA gear.
She had high praise for the president because she said he cared about people. She also said that when she received a call from Trump she was surprised.
She said: “It truly was just a human-to-human interaction. Yes, he is our president, but he’s also a person with a heart who loves people.”
She also added that Trump gave her something else, he gave her hope. She continued: “I was just in such shock and in such awe that the president himself called me and took the time to let me know that my family was coming back together.”
Her parents, who were stars of the Chrisley Knows Best reality show were convicted in 2022 and sent to prison for federal tax evasion and fraud crimes. Todd was sentenced to 12 years and Julie was given seven years.
Savannah said that Trump felt her parents were treated unfairly. She continued: “He did say, he was like, ‘You know, you guys don’t look like terrorists.
“But he just said that their sentences were outrageous and they were treated unfairly from everyone that he has spoken to, and that he wanted to bring my parents home and not just grant them a commutation, but he wanted to give them a full pardon as well.”
Even prior to the pardon, Savannah was a supporter of Donald Trump. She also said that she had ‘lost some deals’ in the past because of her support.
