One of the most emotional times in life is becoming a parent; it’s typically a time of love, hope, and dreams. After years of trying, Carlos and Erica Morales of Phoenix experienced all of that and more when they learned they were expecting quadruplets.
Their tale of love was compelling. They overcome the grief of a miscarriage, were married, and fell deeply in love despite a linguistic barrier. The miracle of having four babies on the way then arrived.
Throughout the entire pregnancy, Carlos was there for Erica. Because of Erica’s elevated blood pressure, physicians opted to deliver the infants early on January 12, 2015. Before the delivery, the couple, excited for their expanding family, exchanged a kiss.
But then disaster struck. Erica died of hypovolemic shock shortly after giving birth to three girls and a boy.
Carlos experienced the most terrible moment of his life after experiencing the happiest. Despite his sorrow, he took the initiative. He studied everything he could to take care of his infants and named one of the girls Erica in honor of her mother.
Carlos has raised his kids with grace, love, and power with the assistance of Erica’s mother. His story serves as a reminder that although things can change quickly in life, love always gets us through difficult times.
