Things are really heating up in the United States with all of the issues with immigration. It has now hit one individual who is known by millions, TikToker Khaby Lame.
According to an ICE representative, “US Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained Seringe Khabane Lame, 25, a citizen of Italy, June 6, at the Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas, Nevada for immigration violations.” Since then, he has left the United States.
Lame is more than just a social media enthusiast; he has more followers on TikTok than any other individual on the platform. 160 million people follow him, and millions of them now know that he was asked to leave the United States due to overstaying the terms of his visa.
The 25-year-old video creator was stopped at the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas by ICE. After being detained temporarily, he was granted voluntary departure.
Khaby Lame was born in Senegal, but he moved to Italy with his family when he was only a baby. In August 2022, he was given an Italian citizenship.
Lame began posting silent comedy videos on TikTok after being laid off from his job during the pandemic. He said: “Before TikTok, I was working in a factory. I had a lot of different jobs.
“I was helping support my family — three little brothers, one older brother and my parents. Then my world changed completely. It’s a whole different life now.”
Lame was at the Met Gala in May 2025.
This detainment, as well as many others, came as a result of Trump’s immigration crackdown. ICE has been launching raids all across the United States, enforcing the mass deportation campaign set up by the president.
