**Letting Go to Heal After Loss**

Grieving a loved one is deeply painful, and while holding onto their belongings can bring comfort, some items may quietly prolong that grief. Letting go of certain things doesn’t mean forgetting—it means making space to heal.

Here are four types of items to consider releasing:

1. **Painful Reminders** – Medications, medical equipment, or objects tied to their final days can reopen emotional wounds.

2. **Unfinished Projects** – These can keep you trapped in “what could have been.” Consider passing them on to someone who can complete them.

3. **Clothing** – Their scent may feel comforting, but holding onto all their clothes may delay acceptance and healing.

4. **Favorite Items** – Cherishing one or two meaningful keepsakes is healthy, but keeping too many can be emotionally overwhelming.

**Remember:** The most lasting treasures are the love, lessons, and memories we carry forward—not the items left behind.
