A heartbreaking case out of El Paso County, Colorado is gaining national attention after the death of 97-year-old Corrye Brewer was officially ruled a homicide by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office.
Brewer, who had been visiting family in the Falcon area, was reported missing on January 25. According to the autopsy report, she had not been seen for over 24 hours before that call was made. She was later found lying outside a vacant property—alone, helpless, and exposed to sub-freezing temperatures.
❄️ Intentionally Left Outside in Deadly Weather
According to the coroner’s findings, Brewer was allegedly left outside an unoccupied house on Judge Orr Road in Calhan by her own daughter. The report states she had no cellphone, no walker, and no way to return home or seek help. That night, wind and snow whipped through the area, and temperatures dropped as low as 16 degrees Fahrenheit.
The autopsy confirmed Brewer died of hypothermia, but the key finding was chilling:
“She was intentionally left out in the cold without any way to return home, find shelter, or call for help.”
