In the English city of Bristol, there stands a rather peculiar house. This two-story building, home to five apartments, is nestled in a quiet residential area. From one side, it appears incredibly narrow—measuring just 60 centimeters wide. However, viewing it from the other end reveals that the house has a completely typical shape.

One of the longtime residents, 59-year-old Andy Watson, has lived there for nearly twenty years. Remarkably, for sixteen of those years, he had no idea that his home had such an unusual structure. Since he always approached his house from the same direction, it looked completely ordinary to him.

That changed three years ago when Andy’s brother came to visit. The relative was amused and asked how Andy managed to live in such a narrow house. Confused, Andy had no idea what he was talking about—until his brother took him outside and pointed out the strikingly slim facade.

“My brother found it hilarious, but I was actually a bit annoyed,” Andy admitted. “How could I have never noticed? Especially since I’ve always paid attention to similarly built houses on narrow street corners.”

Despite the quirky design, Andy insists that living in the house feels completely normal, and he has never considered moving. Interestingly, the narrowest section of the building houses a utility room with four washing machines shared by the residents.
