During her set at iHeartRadio’s KIIS-FM Wango Tango in Huntington Beach, California, the 31-year-old pop star performed a high-energy rendition of the 2014 chart-topping anthem.

Trainor, who donned a fabulous a hot pink, rhinestone-encrusted two-piece that showed off her slimmed-down figure, sang: “Yeah, it’s pretty clear, I got some new boobs / But I can shake it, shake it, like I’m supposed to do,” replacing the original: “Yeah, it’s pretty clear, I ain’t no size two.”

The clip, which was posted to 102.7 KIIS FM’s official TikTok account, captured the moment and triggered a flood of critical online reactions.

“I feel she just morally shouldn’t perform this song anymore,” one user said, while another shared: “Her removing ‘I ain’t no size 2’ is insane.”

“There’s absolutely nothing wrong with feeling yourself, and you should because you do look amazing and gorg. But I think it’s time to retire ‘All About That Bass’ from your set lists lol. I understand it’s your biggest hit but it goes against everything that you are now and just doesn’t make sense for you to sing anymore. I’m not hating, I’m just saying,” an Instagram user added.

A critic shared: “She used to be my inspiration I guess everyone wanna look certain way.”

Despite the backlash, Trainor has remained candid about how her body transformation has shaped both her personal life and professional identity.

Following her recognition as a Hitmaker at the Billboard Women in Music Awards, the ‘Me Too’ singer spoke out about the attention her appearance continues to attract.

“Feeling so honored to be recognized… but it’s a little disheartening that so many of the questions (and comments) were focused on my body instead of my music, my passion, or the decade of hard work that got me here,” she wrote. “This is what it’s like to be a woman in the music industry.

“I’ve been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and for me,” she continued. “I’ve worked with a dietician, made huge lifestyle changes, started exercising with a trainer, and yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!) to help me after my 2nd pregnancy. And I’m so glad I did because I feel great.”

The ‘No’ singer, who also underwent breast augmentation, shares two sons, Riley, four, and Barry, one, with her husband, Spy Kids star Daryl Sabara.

Her health journey began in 2021 following the birth of Riley, after which she revealed being in “a really dark place” due to being at her heaviest. She later lost 60 pounds “the healthy way,” working out daily with personal trainer Rebecca Stanton and learning portion control.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight Canada, Trainor said, “I was in a really dark place, and I wanted to be in a great place for my son. I worked [out] every day and challenged myself… I was like, ‘I’m fighting.’”

That mindset shift led to broader lifestyle changes. “My brain is so happy when I exercise,” she added. “I learned that I do like healthy food, and I learned what portions mean.”

Since its debut, ‘All About That Bass’ has courted both praise and criticism. While some called it an empowering anthem for body acceptance, others took issue with its framing.

In a 2014 interview with Billboard, Trainor defended the track: “I’m not bashing skinny girls… I wrote it for me, as well, because I’ve struggled with [body image] since I was very young. So, if other girls can relate to the song, it makes me feel even better.”
